Our Chiropractic Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our clinical judgment and years of experience. Many people seek care in our practice and have one goal: relief. So that’s where we start! We encourage our patients to achieve the highest levels of health they can, by staying on for care after their pain is gone.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment that has been clinically shown to improve pregnancy outcomes. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral/pelvic dysfunction and misalignment through chiropractic care. In this clinical and theoretical framework, it is proposed that sacral misalignment may contribute to the three primary causes of labour problems: uterine nerve interference, pelvic misalignment and the tightening or torsion of specific pelvic muscles and ligaments. The resulting tense muscles and ligaments and their ill effect on the uterus may prevent the baby from comfortably assuming the best possible position for birth.

In regards to pregnant mothers, Dr. Webster reported that when a mother sought care and her baby was in a breech position, the restoration of pelvic neuro-biomechanics with this adjustment frequently facilitated optimal fetal positioning. It is important to note that Webster Technique is not a treatment for fetal malposition or in-utero constraint, however it is a technique that has been shown to improve sacral and pelvic dysfunction which may improve the ease of and avoid intervention during labour. There are cases published in the chiropractic literature that support this theory. More research is needed and is currently underway by the ICPA. Click here to find out more about Webster Technique.
